What is the difference between Bartact tactical shades and mesh shades?

Bartact tactical shades are solid-panel shades that mount to the hardtop interior. They block far more UV and heat than mesh options and double as MOLLE storage panels. Mesh shades (like Alien Sunshade) are designed for freedom panels and open-air use when the hardtop panels are removed.

Are JL 2-door and JLU 4-door sun shades interchangeable?

No. The hardtop dimensions differ — Bartact makes separate part numbers for JL 2-door and JLU 4-door. Always confirm your door count before ordering.

Can I use a Bartact shade with the freedom panels removed?

Bartact hardtop shades mount to the interior of the hardtop — they require the top to be on. For open-air / panels-off use, the Alien Sunshade mesh is the right product.
